On Sunday, thousands of runners from across the country will be in Sioux Falls for the fourth annual Sioux Falls Marathon.
This race is a Boston Marathon qualifier. Many runners from across the region and the country are coming to Sioux Falls to lace up their shoes and race for a chance to qualify.
Along with the marathon, there will be a half marathon and a 5K run. The money that is raised in the half marathon and 5K will go to the Children's Miracle Network.
On Sunday, Sioux Falls Police will shut down roads during the race. Phillips Avenue will be closed from 14th Street to East McClellan Street, East 9th Street will be closed from Phillips Avenue to 2nd Street, and East River Boulevard, which turns into 18th Street, will be closed from Cliff Avenue to Southeastern Avenue. The closures will last from 6:30 a.m. to around 12:30 p.m.
