The owner of a Sioux Falls Internet marketing company has been named South Dakota's Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
Paul Ten Haken, owner of Click Rain, gets the honor from the Small Business Administration. The award has been given out since 2001 and is part of the SBA’s annual celebration of small businesses during National Small Business Week, a tradition that dates back to 1963.
“This recognition is a huge honor, but any successful entrepreneurial venture is a team effort. We're very fortunate to have an amazing crew at Click Rain that has made us what we are today," Ten Haken said. "The business climate and entrepreneurial network in South Dakota also makes hanging a shingle here and chasing a goal very achievable.”
Ten Haken was given the award for taking on the risk to start a business, his unique business model and the success of Click Rain.
“Paul has not only grown Click Rain into an outstanding company, but his support for the local business community and betterment of the local community is exemplary,” said John Brown, district director of the state’s SBA office.
Ten Haken will be presented the award at a ceremony on Thursday, June 5.
