Sioux Falls Man Found In Truck Died From Health Issue
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

The death of a Sioux Falls man who was found in a truck in a field was due to a medical condition.

Authorities say 53-year-old Scott Schmidt had been driving a 2011 Toyota Tacoma truck east on 69th Street when it left the road near Southeastern Avenue.  A witness reports seeing the truck in a field between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 5. Police say he went through two fields and a ditch before the truck came to a stop.  The crash scene is about a half-mile long.

A contractor spotted the truck on Monday, July 7.

Sioux Falls police says tests show Schmidt died from a health issue.
