SIOUX FALLS, SD -
Sioux Falls Police say they've caught the man suspected in Monday morning's casino robbery, and it's because the clerk knew him.
Police have arrested 34-year-old Lapete Hicks, Senior on first degree robbery charges. Authorities say the Sioux Falls man showed a gun to the clerk at Deuces Casino off of 49th Street. Police say he left with cash from the casino, and he got away after he took the keys to a customer's car.
"It was found near 85th Street and Hughes Avenue that morning. It turns out that's just a few blocks away from where our suspect lives," Sioux Falls Police Public Information Officer Sam Clemens said.
Police say the clerk recognized Hicks, and investigators tracked him down. They arrested him Thursday afternoon.
