Sioux Falls Leaf Drop-Off Sites Open Soon

SIOUX FALLS, SD - With Fall comes the need to get the leaves out of your yard.

The leaf drop-off sites open for the season this Saturday in Sioux Falls.  The west side drop-off site is near the Sioux Empire Fairgrounds on North Lyons Boulevard.  The east side location is on East Chambers Street, which is near the street department office off of North Cliff Avenue. 

And this year, the location on East Chambers Street will also accept small branches.  It's a pilot program launched after some people asked for the option.

"There was a call for it, and so we're going to test it out and see how good of a response we get and how many branches we're able to take here at this facility," Sanitary Landfill Superintendent Dave McElroy said.

The cost to use the drop off is $2. The locations are open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.
