The Sioux Falls Health Department is using state grant money to boost mosquito control efforts in South Dakota's most populous city.
The state Department of Health recently gave Sioux Falls $30,000 to enhance its surveillance and treatment of mosquitoes in and around the Sioux Falls area.
The city's Vector Control Program is using the funding to expand its efforts to include a two-mile perimeter surrounding the city limits. The program hopes to collect more information on mosquito activity near the city.
