Sioux Falls Fire Chief Announces Retirement

Sioux Falls is looking for a new Fire Chief.
Fire Chief Donn Hill announced Monday that he will retire on June 3, 2011. Hill started his career with Sioux Falls Fire Rescue in 1982. He was first named Fire Chief in 1997 by former Mayor Gary Hanson. Hill resigned from the position in 2006 and was later reappointed by former Mayor Dave Munson on November 19, 2007.
"Sioux Falls Fire Rescue will be in good hands. The department has a great team of well qualified leaders who will continuously work to provide outstanding fire and rescue services," Hill said in a release from the city.
Mayor Mike Huether is assembling a search committee to recommend top candidates to take over for Hill.
