Michael Berg of Detroit Lakes, Minn., and Danny Sinksen of Sioux Falls have advanced in their quest to play in this year’s United States Open Golf Championship after local qualifying Monday at Bakker Crossing Golf Course in Sioux Falls.
Berg was the medalist Monday, firing a 2-under-par 69. Sinksen, the head golf professional at Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls, shot an even-par 71 and earned the second automatic berth after defeating Max Donohue of Sioux Falls on the first playoff hole.
