Shot Fired In Overnight Robbery

Sioux Falls police are searching for two men in connection with an early morning armed robbery.

Just after 1 a.m. on Friday, police were called to Cubby's on 49th Street and Western Avenue. Police say two black men entered the convenience store with semi-automatic handguns and robbed the clerk at gunpoint.

The clerk followed the armed men's orders and handed over an undetermined amount of cash. As the men walked away, one turned around and fired the gun once, but the clerk was not injured.

Police are now looking for the two men. Read their descriptions below.

Suspect 1:

  • Black male
  • 5-foot-8 to 5-feet-10 inches tall
  • Slender build
  • Wearing: gray hooded sweatshirt, red bandana over his face, black and white shoes, blue and tan gloves and armed with a black semi-automatic handgun

Suspect 2:

  • Black male
  • 5-foot-8 to 5-feet-10 inches tall
  • Stocky build
  • Wearing: red with black shoulders Columbia-style coat without a hood, red bandana over the top of his head and a second red bandana covering his face, all black shoes, armed with a black and silver semi-automatic handgun

Both suspects were last seen on foot headed west through the parking lot of the store. Police say both men are considered armed and dangerous.

If you have any information on this case, you're asked to call police.
