SFFR To Break Ground On New Station

Northwest Sioux Falls will be the home of a new fire station.

On Monday, a groundbreaking ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. on the intersection of North Valley View Road and Maple Street. Parking for the site is just off of Maple Street with overflow at George McGovern Middle School.

Fire Station No. 11 will be around 1.5 acres and will include a three-bay garage with support spaces. There will also be four sleeping rooms, a physical training area, laundry, a living room, offices and Battalion Chief headquarters.

The station will be operational by the spring of 2015.
