SF To Analyze Events Center Sites
October 14, 2010, 7:30 AM
SIOUX FALLS, SD -
Sioux Falls Mayor Mike Huether says the city will hire a firm to conduct an economic impact analysis of different locations for a planned $100 million events center.
Huether has favored a site connected to the city's existing arena northwest of downtown, while others have wanted to see it built downtown.
Build It Downtown executive board member Steve Hildebrand says the study is what the group has been pushing for.
Public Works Director Mark Cotter says the analysis won't be conducted until the first quarter of 2011, after the design process starts.
Hildebrand would like it to be done in advance.
