As you get ready to hit the road this morning you may want to take the extra minute to put the cell phone away, because you could face a fine if you are caught texting and driving in Sioux Falls. The Sioux Falls texting while driving ban takes effect Friday.
The Sioux Falls City Council approved the ordinance earlier this month.
Now, if you're caught texting behind the wheel, you could face a fine. That not only includes while driving but even stopped at a stop light or sign. Your first offense could cost you up to $200.
