Sioux Falls Police have found the weapon they believe 41-year-old John Senn used to murder 53-year-old Brenda Hansen. Hansen was stabbed inside her Sioux Falls home at Misty Glen Place in southwest Sioux Falls on Wednesday afternoon.
Police caught up with Senn less than a half hour later and found that he had some of Hansen's Oxycontin pills in his possession.
Thursday night investigators found the knife and gloves they believe Senn used to carry out the murder. Both items were found in a dumpster at a gas station on the northwest corner of 41st and Sertoma. Sioux Falls Police Information Officer Sam Clemens says it appears that the knife is a folding pocket knife. Crime lab testing is being done to confirm that the items were involved in the homicide.
Senn is being held on a $1 million bond.
