SF Man Killed In Head On Collision

SIOUX FALLS, SD -
A Sioux Falls man is dead and four others hurt in head-on crash early Saturday morning. Authorities say it happened when a woman drove the wrong way down the northbound lane on I-229.
Interstate 229 was closed for nearly four hours so troopers could reconstruct the crash. Investigators say alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Police say, around 2 a.m., 28-year-old Tammy Kvasnicka drove the wrong way in the northbound lane on Interstate 229 between Western and Minnesota Avenue. Her car collided head-on with a BMW with five people inside. The driver of the BMW, Corbin Burwell, was minorly hurt, but a passenger in the back seat died from the crash. Officials say the man who died was 27-year-old Michael Xayavong.
Kvasnick faces felony charge including vehicular homicide, vehicular battery, and DUI 3rd. She received minor injuries from the collision.
The other passengers in the BMW, 24-year-old Tony Chounramany sustained serious injuries. 25-year-old Kyle Seneth had minor injuries, and Danny Phouthavon was not hurt. Everyone involved is from Sioux Falls.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is still investigating.
