A major river clean-up event is ready to go -- rain or shine -- in Sioux Falls this Saturday.
The 2014 Big Sioux River Greenway Clean-up will take over seven city parks from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Volunteers can show up at any time during those three hours, pick up a garbage bag, and help make the areas around the bike trails that much cleaner.
"To maintain this advantage and this asset, we need to really put some work in, on an annual basis, to make sure that it's clean and well-maintained," Public Works Director Mark Cotter said.
Garbage bags and gloves will be provided. Clean-up events will be set up at Legacy Park, Dunham Park, Falls Park, Spencer Park, Rotary and Cherry Rock Park, Sertoma Park, and Fawick Park.
