SIOUX FALLS, SD -
The South Dakota Chamber of Commerce held its annual economic outlook seminar Tuesday afternoon in Sioux Falls.
Business and community leaders from around the area talked about the current state of both the local and national economy. The president of the chamber says the state's currently going through what he calls a 'u-shaped' recession and that things should start to improve by 2014.
"We are going to see jobs created," President of The South Dakota Chamber Of Commerce David Owen said. "Sioux Falls is going to be one of the places where we see most of those and some population growth. But, this recovery isn't going to feel like the kind of recovery we've had for at least another year and a half or two years."
Owen says most business leaders remain cautiously optimistic about the local economy.
