Fmr. Walworth State's Attny. Charged With Rape
PIERRE, SD -

The former Walworth County State's Attorney has been arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree rape.

The South Dakota Attorney General's Office says 34-year-old Christopher Robert Jansen is facing felony rape charges which carries a maximum of life in prison. 

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is looking into the case, along with the Division of Criminal Investigation, the Walworth County Sheriff's Office and Mobridge Police Department.

Jansen is expected to make his first court appearance in Pierre at 1:15 p.m. Thursday.
