South Dakota Secretary of State Jason Gant started his day in Yankton where voters there are trying out the e-poll books. Then he made his way to Sioux Falls to check on things here.
"We're seeing lot of people getting out to vote bright and early this morning. And we're very excited that we are hopefully going to hit our projection on voter turnout and maybe even exceed that. So definitely, we want to encourage everyone to get out there and cast their ballot today," Gant said.
Gant is predicting a 70 percent voter turnout for the election in South Dakota. He believes tight races from the local, state and national level are bringing people out to the polls.
Some of South Dakota's ballot issues are also drawing strong opinions. We'll have reaction from voters tonight on KELOLAND News.
