RAPID CITY, SD -
A shooting that killed a Rapid City police officer last week has claimed the life of another law enforcement officer.
Officer Nick Armstrong succumbed to his gunshot injuries Sunday, after being in critical condition since the Rapid City shooting that killed fellow officer James Ryan McCandless and hurt officer Tim Doyle.
Officer Armstrong was 27 years old. He was born and raised in Rapid City, and he'd been with the police department for two years.
Funeral arrangements for Officer Armstrong are pending.
Officer Ryan McCandless' funeral was held Sunday in Rapid City. He died Tuesday, and he will be buried in Michigan.
Officer Tim Doyle was on a breathing tube, and his jaw is wired shut, but he was able to attend Sunday's services for Officer McCandless.
