Search Increases For Missing Nebraska Man

YANKTON, SD -

Bloodhounds, boats, an airplane and a helicopter have joined the search for a missing Nebraska man.

Jeffrey Potts hasn't been seen or heard from since early Sunday morning, when he left a message for his son indicating he needed help.

The call was made from the Nebraska side of the Missouri River. His truck was left in Yankton.

Searchers are scouring the water and going through properties of interest.

They're concerned because Potts does not have his medication for short term memory loss.

Here is a timeline for Potts:

June 9 at 8:19 p.m.
Potts was involved in an assault in downtown Yankton.

June 9 at 11:30 p.m.
Potts leaves the Upper Deck and was believed to have last been seen walking south towards Discovery Bridge.

Between June 9, 11:30 p.m. and June 10, 12:43 a.m.
Potts made 19 phone calls. On the Last call he left a voice message for his son indicating he needed help, but didn’t seem distressed. The last call was traced on the Nebraska side of the Missouri River.

June 13
Bloodhounds and an airplane are used in a search for Potts.

June 14
A South Dakota National Guard helicopter is used to search the Missouri River.

June 15
Boats are used to search the river along with the bloodhounds and helicopter.
