He's in a class of his own here in South Dakota and now you can help prove his worth to the rest of the country.
South Dakota State University men’s basketball player Nate Wolters is one of 12 finalists for a national honor that recognizes the best point guard in the nation.
The Bob Cousy Collegiate Point Guard of the Year award began with 80 nominees, but that list has since has been cut down. And fan voting plays a role in determining who will win.
With a career week behind the senior Jackrabbit in which he dropped 53 points against Fort Wayne, Wolters currently leads a list that includes the likes of Michigan's Trey Burke, Michael Carter Williams from Syracuse and Ohio State's Aaron Craft just to name a few.
As of right now, Wolters has 36 percent of the vote followed by Craft with 18. The player that receives the most fan votes gets one vote toward the final committee vote.
Fans can weigh in until March 7.
