South Dakota State University is offering a master's degree aimed at helping veterans, military personnel and their spouses.
Officials say the master's degree in human sciences deals with family and community services. It provides education and research expertise focused on improving individual, family and community development.
SDSU is offering the degree online as part of a group of 11 universities.
Students completing the master's degree will be qualified to work in Extension offices, Army community services, family advocacy programs, child development centers, emergency shelters and other nonprofit agencies.
Classes include subjects such as child and adult development, parenting, grant writing, how to handle stress and understanding trauma.
