There was a buzz in Brookings as the South Dakota State University women played today for a trip to the WNIT Final Four. This is the farthest the jacks have ever gone in the tournament.
It was a full house at Frost Arena as the Jackrabbits took on the Indiana Hoosiers.
Fans were lining up at the ticket window over an hour before the game. Once the game started, the sea of blue erupted with every Jacks basket. Don Larson is a lifelong SDSU fan, and he knew the atmosphere was going to be electric going into this big game.
“It reminds me of the old days when we use to play in the old barn and we would have the big SDSU rivalry games and us little kids would be hanging virtually from the rafters to watch the Jacks. Well I think that's what we're going to have today,” Larson said.
Just under 3,800 fans packed Frost Arena, which is a season high attendance for a Women's Game.
