An Oglala woman has been sentenced to five years in prison for causing the death of her child.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says 27-year-old Elizabeth Red Star-Benson was earlier convicted of involuntary manslaughter.
Prosecutors say her blood alcohol content was more than three times the legal limit when she rolled her vehicle on Aug. 31 at Porcupine near the KILI radio station.
Her 4-year old son was not in a car seat and was ejected from the vehicle. He died at the scene.
