The Oglala Sioux Tribe is seeking design ideas from the public for a new Sioux Nation dollar coin.
The tribe's Office of Economic Development is working with the Native American Mint on the contest.
The winning design will be displayed on a 39 millimeter coin. Designs should represent Sioux history, culture, values and hopes for the future.
The Sioux Dollar coin will not be circulated and will instead be sold to collectors.
The winner will receive $100 and 50 coins.
