A close vote Wednesday morning advances a statewide texting and driving ban.
The bill passed a Senate committee with a 5-4 vote. It now moves on to the full Senate.
The bill would allow law enforcement officers to issue tickets for texting while driving only after stopping drivers for some other traffic violation. It would also prohibit local governments from having texting bans that differ from state law.
We will have more on the discussion tonight on KELOLAND News.
