On February 6, some five day old puppies arrived at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society. The puppies did not have a mom so the Humane Society needed to find people that were dedicated to care for them round the clock.
The South Dakota Penitentiary Parole Pups Program was contacted and is fostering the little ones. They have been caring for them about three weeks now.
The pups have a feeding schedule of every four hours and the inmates are assigned shifts.
The Humane Society is very impressed on how dedicated the inmates have been in caring for the little orphans.
