SD Panel Gives Final OK On Agency Rule Changes
PIERRE, SD -

A South Dakota panel has approved rule changes in multiple state departments including an official extension of a 65 mph zone on Interstate 90 between Rapid City and Ellsworth Air Force Base.

The legislative Rules Review Committee also held a final review of Game, Fish and Parks rules in a Tuesday meeting. Several state properties will no longer be designated "refuges."

Tony Leif is director of the Division of Wildlife. He says refuges are not as important for wildlife management as once thought.

The panel has also approved a new conflict of interest policy for the Board of Minerals and Environment that is required by a federal oversight group.

State agencies must now submit their rule changes to the secretary of state. They take effect 20 days after filing.
