South Dakota officials say they made some promising contacts with outdoors businesses while attending last month's Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show in Las Vegas.
South Dakota has an ongoing effort to attract businesses that make firearms, ammunition and other equipment and supplies for shooting and hunting.
State Economic Development Commissioner Pat Costello says South Dakota officials have attended the show for the past 12 years. He says the delegation held more than 25 meetings during this year's show with South Dakota companies and new and existing prospects.
The show was attended by 62,000 people and featured 1,600 exhibitors. Nine South Dakota companies were exhibiting independently at the event.
