SD October Unemployment Rate At 4.5 Percent

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says South Dakota's preliminary unemployment rate for October was 4.5 percent, down from 4.6 percent the previous month and half of the national rate.
State Labor and Regulation Secretary Pam Roberts says the number of employed people in the South Dakota labor force increased by 4,500 over the year, continuing a recent trend.
The national unemployment rate last month was 9 percent, down from 9.1 percent in September.
