SIOUX FALLS, SD -
A South Dakota man who admitted harboring another man who eventually was sent to prison for financial crimes including tax fraud has been sentenced to a year in custody.
Sixty-four-year-old Theodore Nelson of Letcher was indicted in April and pleaded guilty in August to harboring Thomas Kelley of Salem, who failed to appear at his sentencing after being convicted of 22 federal crimes. Kelley was arrested in Minnesota late last year after a four-month, multistate search by authorities, and sentenced nearly six years behind bars.
U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says Nelson will be on supervised release for two years following his prison term.
