The South Dakota House has rejected a measure that would have increased the bet limit in video lottery games.
A bill that would have raised the bet limit from $2 to $5 failed on a vote of 28-40.
Supporters say the increase was needed to boost lagging state revenues from video lottery machines.
Opponents say the bet limit should not be increased because that would cause additional social problems from gambling.
