A high school student in the southeastern South Dakota town of Ethan has been suspended for 10 days for bringing a pellet gun to school.
Superintendent Terry Eckstaine says a teacher found the pellet gun in the trunk of the student's car near the school's shop area on Monday. The school did not identify the student.
Eckstaine says no students or staff members were in danger, but school policy called for the suspension. Davison County Sheriff Steve Brink says his office will let the school handle the incident.
