SD Health Care Company To Open Payment Center

August 17, 2012, 8:18 AM

SD Health Care Company To Open Payment Center
MITCHELL, SD -

South Dakota's Avera health care company is opening a payment center in Mitchell.

Company officials say the center will employ 15 people when it gets going early next year. The center could hire as many as 50 workers.

It will be located in Avera's medical plaza in Mitchell. The payment center will support Avera hospitals and medical facilities in four states.

Avera Queen of Peace Hospital President Tom Clark says it's the first time Avera has opened an office outside of Sioux Falls.

Local economic development officials provided incentives to land the center. The Mitchell Area Development Corp. is loaning the project $100,000. Parts of the loan will be forgiven for every worker the center hires.
