A national advocate for victims' rights and missing children will speak at a South Dakota law enforcement dinner next month.
John Walsh, creator of the television show "America's Most Wanted" and a leader of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, will be the keynote speaker at the 32nd annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner and Children's Charity Fundraiser on Nov. 13 in Sioux Falls.
The annual event raises money for poor children and brings law enforcement officers from various agencies together to discuss issues.
Walsh's career as an advocate for victim's rights started after his 6-year-old son was abducted in 1981 and later found slain.
Officials say Walsh's work on "America's Most Wanted" helped find a man who had fled South Dakota after being charged with first-degree manslaughter.
