South Dakota teachers and education officials are meeting in Oacoma for this year's annual Indian Education Summit.
The event, which runs through Tuesday, is aimed at providing solutions to challenges faced by American Indian students. It also includes presentations on programs that have been successful.
Keynote speakers include Eastern Washington University professor Raphael Guillory, Bemidji State University professor Anton Treuer and Sitting Bull College President Laurel Vermillion from the Standing Rock Indian Reservation.
