SD Delegates: Ready For Clinton's Speech

SD Delegates: Ready For Clinton's Speech

Due to the threat of bad weather, organizers at the Democratic National Convention in North Carolina have moved President Obama's acceptance speech indoors for Thursday night.

The president's wife, Michelle Obama, gave her speech Tuesday night in what many are calling one of the finest speeches ever delivered at a national political convention.

On Wednesday, it's President Bill Clinton's turn to try and motivate the democrats.

South Dakota's delegates say Clinton's speech will resonate with the country.

“What President Clinton can do especially in this economy is really speak to the way his policies in the 199's led to unprecedented growth. He's saying we should go back to those policies instead of going back to the policies of George W. Bush is what got us into this mess in the first place,” South Dakota delegate Ryan Casey said.

Casey says moving President Obama's speech inside is good for the South Dakota delegation, because they will be closer to the President when he delivers his speech. But he says it's a "setback" for the thousands of voters  who will be left out, because North Carolina is a swing state.

“Getting all those people involved and engaged is a tremendous help when it comes to a ground game effort, in some ways it kind of takes away from that a little bit,” Casey said.

You can watch the Democratic National Convention live on KELOLAND TV beginning at 9 p.m.
