RAPID CITY, SD -
The South Dakota Department of Health says two more people have died as the result of influenza, but overall flu activity decreased.
For the reporting week ending March 24, the total of influenza-related deaths was eight. The median age of the most recent deaths was 90.
Health officials say 401 South Dakotans have had confirmed cases of influenza and 129 of them have been hospitalized.
During the 2010-11 flu season, there were 860 confirmed cases in South Dakota. Twenty deaths were linked to the flu.
