The city of Mitchell has landed the 2013 Cowboy Fast Draw Association national championship.
The event will bring about 200 competitors to the South Dakota city. It will be the first time the event will be held in a state other than Idaho or Oregon.
Troy Bollock is co-founder of the Power Horn Ranch Regulators fast draw group in Mitchell. He says hosting the national championship is a big honor.
The club right now is preparing to host this year's state championship in late August.
Fast draw competitions involve two shooters who stand side by side and see who can hit a target the fastest with wax bullets fired from a .45-caliber handgun.
