South Dakota's Board of Regents has approved design plans for a new football stadium at South Dakota State University.
The board voted unanimously on Tuesday in favor of the plans. State lawmakers earlier this year agreed to build the 19,359-seat venue.
It will include a space for retail operations and the University Police Department.
The project will cost up to $65 million; $36 million will come from bonds to be repaid with stadium revenue.
Rates for bonds have gone down since late 2013 when the board approved the funding structure. Board staff members hope the rates will continue to drop.
The board has yet to approve a final bid for construction, which is expected to begin this summer.
