The South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and Ellsworth Air Force Base have formalized a partnership on projects including repairing and refurbishing B-1 bomber parts.
Mines President Heather Wilson says technology developed at the school already has helped save the military half a million dollars and returned four bombers to service.
Base officials say putting Mines research into use could lead to an additional $2.5 million in savings this year on the bombers.
