A Rapid City elementary school is honoring a student who died in a house fire last year with a colorful quilt.
The quilt, which hangs in the Canyon Lake Elementary School gymnasium, will honor 9-year-old Thomas Rosado.
Thomas, his two brothers and their grandmother died in November when their apartment caught fire.
Thomas was remembered during an assembly at the school this week. The assembly featured Native American dancers and discussions about respect.
A plaque with Thomas' name will also be put in the school's trophy case.
