Saturday Boredom Busters

The Eastern South Dakota Heart Walk's goal is to raise more than $200-thousand for the American Heart Association.  Opening ceremonies are at 8:45 a.m. at Falls Park West on 9th & Phillips in Sioux Falls. The one and three-mile walks begin at 9 a.m. Walkers are eligible for a Heart Walk t-shirt once they have raised a minimum of $100 in pledges.

Star Performance is hosting its annual Fall Open House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be free playtime at the gym with inflatables, trampolines and a foam pit. There will also be drawings and giveaways.  Star Performance Complex is located at  2517 S. Shirley in Sioux Falls.

Saddle up for the McCrossan Boys Ranch Xtreme Event Challenge. The action-packed events include barrel racing, mutton busting and the Northern Bull Riding Tour. The gates open at 4 pm on the McCrossan campus located on North Marion Road.  The BreakEven Band performs at 4:30 p.m. the rodeo begins at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $12.

The Musivend Pink Ladies are hosting a Bean Bag Tournament beginning at 1 p.m. at the Sioux Falls VFW. There's a $5 entry fee. Prizes will be awarded to the top three winners.  Kids will have their own tournament.

Help people in Dallas, South Dakota celebrate the 100th anniversary of their Carnegie Library. Activities start at 10 a.m. with speakers sharing their memories of the library. That's followed by a pork lunch at the city park at noon. An ice cream social will take place at 3 p.m. followed by a street dance at the American Legion at 7 pm.

Tonight's free Moonlight Movie at Fawick Park in downtown Sioux Falls is Ratatouille, rated G.  The movie begins at dusk.  Snacks and refreshments will be sold at the park for you to enjoy during the movie.

The jazz group Mark 7 performs at Sounds at the Falls. The free concert begins at 7 p.m. at the historic Queen Bee Mill at Falls Park.

Purchase fresh produce and many other items for sale at the Sioux Falls Farmers Market, across the street from Falls Park.    The hours are from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Vendors are also selling their produce and baked goods at the Sioux Empire Farmers Market at the 8th & Railroad Center on the East Bank of downtown Sioux Falls. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
