Hundreds of Civil War re-enactors are skirmishing this weekend during Pipestone Civil War Days. Visit soldier's camps and hear from the re-enactors about their roles in the war at Hiawatha Ave. Park in Pipestone, Minnesota. The grounds open at 8 a.m. today and Sunday. Spend "An Evening with Mr. & Mrs. Lincoln" at the Pipestone Performing Arts Center at 5:30 p.m.
The 75th Sioux Empire Fair at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds includes the 147th Army Band performing on the Front Porch at 2 p.m. and Pro Rodeo in the grandstand at 6:30 p.m. Today's hours are from 10 a.m to midnight. Admission is $7 for adults, $2 for kids, free for ages 5 and younger.
Minnehaha Archers is hosting a 3-D Rendezvous Archery Shoot from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. The cost is $15 for adults, $10 for ages 12-17, $5 for kids 11 and younger. The Minnehaha Archers Outdoor Range is located next to Great Bear Recreation Park on Rice Street.
A benefit will be held in Brookings for cancer patient Heather VanMeveren. The benefit goes from 4-8 p.m. at the United Methodist Community Life Center in Brookings and includes a pulled pork sandwich meal, a bake sale, a silent auction and raffle.
Celebrate the 75th anniversary of the classic Wizard of Oz during tonight's free Moonlight Movie at Fawick Park in Sioux Falls. Moviegoers are invited to join actors with the Sioux Empire Community Theatre and dress as their favorite Oz characters. The movie begins at dusk.
Enjoy blues and soul music from Hometown Glow during Sounds at the Falls. The free concert begins at 7 p.m. at the Historic Queen Bee Mill in Falls Park.
