Saturday Boredom Busters

The Sioux Empire Fair features live music, carnival rides, ag exhibits and of course, plenty of food to enjoy.  Today's hours are from 10 a.m. to midnight at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds in Sioux Falls. Admission is $7 for adults, $2 for children, free for kids 5 and younger. The fair runs through August 10th.

The Strike Gold for Goldens will be from 1-4 p.m. at Suburban Lanes in Sioux Falls. This bowling event raises money for Retrieve a Golden of Minnesota, the Midwest's largest Golden Retriever rescue. There will be open bowling and a special raffle lane where bowlers can roll the ball for prizes.

Quartziter Days in Jasper, MN include a craft show and quarry tours starting at 10 a.m.; a kids pedal pull at 11 a.m.; a pet parade at 2 p.m. and a tractor pull at 5 p.m.

Enjoy rock music by the Goodroad Band during Sounds at the Falls. The free concert gets underway at 7 p.m. at the historic Queen Bee Mill in Falls Park.

It's the final day of this summer's Youth Art Show & Sale. The free show features works by local artists 17 years and younger. The art show runs from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Downtown Riverfront Amphitheater between 6th & 8th Streets.

Tonight's free Moonlight Movie at Fawick Park in downtown Sioux Falls is Despicable Me 2, rated PG. The movie starts at dusk.  Refreshments and popcorn will be sold at the park.

Purchase fresh produce and many other items for sale at the Sioux Falls Farmers Market, across the street from Falls Park.    The hours are from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Vendors are also selling their produce and baked goods at the Sioux Empire Farmers Market at the 8th & Railroad Center on the East Bank of downtown Sioux Falls. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
