Zippity Zoo Day is the annual summer kids' carnival at the Great Plains Zoo.  Activities include inflatables, face painting, games, free roast beef sandwiches,  zookeeper talks, animal encounters and performances by children's entertainer Phil Baker.  Zippity Zoo Day goes from 9 am to 3 pm.  The cost is a paid zoo admission.  It's free for zoo members.

Take Steps for Crohn's & Colitis is a walk to raise money and awareness about the chronic and painful digestive diseases.  Check-in is at 3:30 pm at Falls Park.  The walk begins at 4 pm.

The Sioux Falls Morning Optimist Club is hosting a Free Fishing Derby for kids 12 and under.  Bring your own fishing equipment.  They'll provide the bait.  The derby goes from 8:30 to 11 am at Covell Lake.  It includes free hot dogs, chips and soda, plus plenty of prizes.

The History Club and First Book-Sioux Falls are hosting a Home & Garden Sale at the club house located at 758 South Phillips Avenue.  The sale begins at 9 am and includes a café and bake sale, plus lunch.  Proceeds will go toward First Book and other projects supported by The History Club

The Hegg Brothers are the featured performers at Sounds at the Falls.  The free concert gets underway at 7 pm at the Queen Bill Mill in Falls Park.

Another season of Moonlight Movies gets underway at Fawick Park in downtown Sioux Falls.  Today's free showing is Rudy, rated PG.  The film begins at dusk.  Popcorn, candy, soda and water are available for purchase at the park.

A Memory Walk will be held in Rapid City for the anniversary of the devastating 1972 flood.  The walk  begins at 10:30 am at Braeburn Park and bicyclists will start at the Central States Fairgrounds.  Everyone will meet for a free picnic at Old Storybook Island.   Participants will commemorate the legacy of parks created in the aftermath of the flood.

Learn about Pipestone, Minnesota's paranormal past during guided ghost tours through the downtown area.  The tour starts at 8 pm at the Pipestone County Museum.  The cost is $5.  The tours run each Saturday night through the Labor Day weekend. 

Purchase fresh produce and many other items for sale at the Sioux Falls Farmers Market, across the street from Falls Park.    The hours are from 8 am to 1 pm.  The farmers market will be open every Saturday through October.

The Episcopal Diocese of South Dakota is hosting a Craft Fair & Bake Sale from 10 am to 2 pm at Church of the Holy Apostles in Sioux Falls.  Proceeds will go to the Adopt a Cabin youth camping in the Black Hills.  Church of the Holy Apostles is located at 1415 S. Bahnson.

Sioux River Sportsmen's Club in Canton is hosting a 3D Archery Fun Shoot from 9 am to 5 pm today and 10 am to 2 pm Sunday.  The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for ages 12-17 and free for kids under 12.  The range is located on Highway 18, two miles east of the Canton stop light.
