Nyberg's Ace Hardware in Sioux Falls is giving away 1000 roses to customers as part of Memorial Day weekend. The customers, in turn, are encouraged to lay the donated roses on the cemetery headstone of a veteran for Memorial Day. Nyberg's Ace will be handling out the free long-stem roses at its four Sioux Falls locations through Sunday. Nyberg's Ace is working with the Memorial Day Flowers Foundation, which will be placing additional roses on headstones at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
Hop on your Harley to help homeless pets during the Paws for a Cause Poker Run. Registration at J & L Harley goes from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $15 per hand. Stops include Garretson, Brandon, Hartford, Tea, Harrisburg and Worthing. Proceeds benefit the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society.
Grills Gone Wild is a barbeque competition at the 8th & Railroad Center from 3-9 p.m. The event is free to attend. Your $5 donation to sample each recipe will go to the Boys & Girls Club of the Sioux Empire. The event also includes prizes and a kids' inflatable zone.
