New sculptures are going up in downtown Sioux Falls. It's all part of the kickoff to SculptureWalk. After you check out the new works of art being installed outdoors today, go indoors to the Washington Pavilion for the SculptureWalk Expo. Hundreds of world-class sculptures on are display from noon to 6 pm today and from noon to 4 pm on Sunday.
The Sioux Falls Farmer Market opens for the season today, across the street from Falls Park. The hours are from 8 am to 1 pm. The farmers market will be open every Saturday through October.
The Mary Jo Wegner Arboretum on the east side of Sioux Falls is hosting Springtime in the Country. See baby ducks, lambs, pigs, goats, rabbits from 11 am to 3 pm. There's even a display of snake for the more adventurous outdoor lovers. Pack a sack lunch for a picnic and enjoy the wonders of nature off Highway 11, across the road from Arrowhead Park.
The Sioux Falls Orchid Club is hosting an Orchid Show & Sale at the Outdoor Campus. The preview is at 9:30 am. The sale goes from 10 am to 2 pm. Admission is free. The Outdoor Campus is located in Sertoma Park at 53rd & Oxbow.
Girl Scouts as well as non-members are invited to attend today's BIG Event hosted by Girl Scouts-Dakota Horizons. It goes from noon to 3 pm at the Sioux Falls Convention Center and includes hands-on activities to engage girls in science and technology. Admission is $5.
The Sioux Empire Community Theatre presents the musical Les Miserables at 7 pm at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Sioux Falls. Tickets are $20.
