Saturday Boredom Busters

The Sioux Empire Sportsmen's Show is an outdoors enthusiast's paradise.  The show is this weekend at the Sioux Falls Arena & Convention Center.  Today's events include a Kids Fishing Workshop, The Great Bear Show, Championship Crappie Tactics, 10 Secrets to Harvesting Trophy Bucks, Winning Walleye Tactics & Mature Buck Hotspots.  Today's hours are from 10 am to 9 pm.  Admission is $7.50 for adults, $2.50 for children, kids 5 and under are free.

Veterans, volunteers and hospital staff with share their talents during the 24th annual VA Variety Show.  The free show is at 2 pm in the fourth floor auditorium of the Sioux Falls VA located at 2501 West 22nd Street.  Refreshments will be served.

The Augustana Performing & Visual Arts presents the award-winning musical Next to Normal .  The performance is at 7:30 pm in the Edith Mortenson Center Theatre.  Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and free for Augie students.

Purchase gently-used prom dresses and tuxes during Wear It Rock It Give It.  The sale goes from 9 am to 4 pm in the Harrisburg High School Commons.  Part of the proceeds will go to the Children's Miracle Network.

The Knights of Columbus are hosting their annual Mardi Gras Casino Night Fundraiser beginning at 5 pm.  Tickets are $25 and include a New Orleans-style buffet, door prize drawings and card games.  All proceeds will support seminarians.  Mardi Gras Casino Night will be held at Marquette Hall located at 315 N. Summit in Sioux Falls.

The Sioux Empire Community Theatre presents the comedy Noises Off at 7 pm in the downtown Orpheum Theater.  Tickets are $18.

You can see first-hand the construction progress inside the new Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.  A free viewing area is open to the public Saturdays from 6-8 pm and Sundays from 1-4 pm.   Just go to the area near Meeting Room 14 of the Sioux Falls Convention Center, next door.
