Enjoy a weekend of outdoor fun hosted by Sioux Falls Park & Rec during Frosty Frolics. Today's events include a Fun Run/Walk at 9 a.m. at Spencer Park; an ice fishing derby at Family Park from 9-11 a.m.; a guided snowshoe tour from 1-3 p.m. at the Mary Jo Wegner Arboretum, cross country skiing from 3-5 p.m. at Harmodon Park. Several events are taking place at Memorial Ice Rink starting with a curling demonstration at 4 p.m.; hockey and figure skating lessons at 5 p.m.; a figure skating show begins at 6 p.m., and a luminary skate goes until 9 p.m.
This is the final weekend to enjoy the outdoor holidays lights on display at Falls Park. Winter Wonderland goes through Sunday night.
South Dakota's longest-running flea market is taking place this weekend at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. Benson's Flea Market goes from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Expo Building. Admission is $2, free for kids 12 and under.
The Stampede takes on the Tri-City Storm in USHL hockey action. They'll drop the puck at 7:05 p.m. at the Sioux Falls Arena.
Several free services will be available to families in-need during New Year. New You at the Multi-Cultural Center in downtown Sioux Falls. The event goes from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes a free meal, haircuts, clothes and books, while supplies last. Families can also learn about programs available through organizations like the St. Francis House, Feeding South Dakota, Dress for Success, Labor Ready and Lutheran Social Services.
